Therapist in Portland, Oregon

1.

Individual Psychotherapy

Just being human in this world can be exhausting. Stuckness, struggle and pain may be natural parts of life, but tackling them alone doesn't have to be. I offer a warm, safe, non-judgmental place to start feeling and healing.

2.

Clinical Supervision for Associates

Starting out as a newbie therapist is both wildly exciting and daunting. As a clinical supervisor, I help Professional Counselor Associates find their way to a rewarding, ethical, and sustainable practice that feels like you.

My approach to therapy

My clients and I do deep, healing work together. Leaning on genuine human connection, a belief in the power of

feeling our feelings, and a goofy sense of humor,

I help people heal from past hurts so they can better

face today's challenges.

About me

At age 40, after a full career in progressive politics and advocacy, I finally figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up. Three years of grad school and rolling up on a decade in private practice later, I can confidently say I chose absolutely right. What a weird and wonderful job to help others learn to love themselves.

Some of the things I help with:

1.

anxiety & depression

2.

self esteem

3.

childhood trauma

4.

gender identity

5.

life transitions,

grief & loss

6.

relationships & sexuality

Contact
The roots of security and resilience are to be found in the sense of being understood by and having the sense of existing in the heart and mind of a loving, caring, attuned and self-possessed other.
