My Approach

I believe that inside each of us is the capacity to heal what hurts, to change what’s not working for us, and to accept all parts of ourselves with compassion. But sometimes we feel stuck—in old patterns, painful feelings, anxious thoughts, or negative beliefs about ourselves or others. That stuck feeling can be overwhelming, like we don’t even know where to start. I offer my clients a supportive, collaborative and safe place to make that start. With courage, self-compassion, and a counselor who will partner with you in the work, it’s possible to find new and freeing ways of relating to yourself and the world around you. I use an integrative approach that incorporates elements of Existential-Humanistic, Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive therapies, tailored to your unique human needs and goals.

I see counseling as a collaboration, where your rights, wishes, and choices matter. You are the expert on you. My job is to help you—and sometimes challenge you—to access that inner wisdom when it feels blocked, muddled or confusing. Together we’ll identify problems, explore and sit with difficult thoughts and feelings, dig into entrenched patterns, and get to know all parts of you. Sometimes that process is joyful and light, other times it can feel hard and uncomfortable. â€‹
